I Krulldn’t have Krulled it better Krullself.
I didn’t see Krull until a few years ago (in my thirties) but this all sounds right.
I remember it had a pretty good soundtrack, that sounded pretty much the same as all the other fantasy-movie soundtracks James Horner did in the ’80s.
As a child the Slayers scared me so bad I turned and faced the back of the movie theatre focusing on the flickering light coming from the projector booth. My dad kept telling me to “turn around” in a terse whisper, but I would not. I think it was the sound of their death screams.
Years later I had a college roommate who looked so much like the lead character that we used to call him “Tad the Boy King!” We would yell “HAIL, Tad the Boy King!” when he walked in a room. Not everytime, but enough.
One day, years later, he pulled me aside and asked why we did that.
