Honestly, I think Son of Satan could have worked if they just took 10 years off him. A late teens SoS that’s trying to get out of the shadow of his famous dad, while also fighting demons? Kind of like the video game Hades!
Or make him a lot older. Some kind of cranky old dude who was cursed by Satan with sciatica and sits in his recliner and mainly lets villains do their thing around him, until someone disconnects his cable and he can’t watch his shows. So he dusts off the ol’ trident and starts blasting!
