Hey now. You forgot Speed Buggy from your list on Hanna-Barbera made Scooby-Doo rip offs. Not that it isn’t easy to forget any of them since they made so many.

Does that cartoon with the talking motorcycles count? “Let’s get him boys, arum guguguguhh” actual show quote.

Holy shit I love Swaim brain. The Harry Potter sequel on…that website was wild. The Climb, great read, fascinating as funny. Perfect fit for 900 Hot Dog. Thank you and more please.

I totally agree. For me his stories always have a Lovecraft vibe to them. Like there is a dark undercurrent of madness that will swallow you if you focus too much on it but is also fascinating to look at. As Justin says your brain is deeply appreciated here sir.

Waaaaaait a minute…

…ICE didn’t exist until *after* WB bought out Hanna-Barbera!

I think these cartoons might be fake!

So good news: I can confirm turning the dog invisible still saved them most of the work. Hannah-barbera worked with an animation system where individual body parts existed on different cels, so you could just animate a character by wiggling and rotating limbs. That’s why Yogi bear has that collar; it prevents you from seeing his horrible decapitated head wiggling and tilting around. He’s like the woman with the green ribbon ’round her neck, who won’t tell you why it’s there! Not even once you’re wed. To Yogi Bear.

Anyhow they presumably just had that hat and collar on their own cels, and were just sliding them around on top of the background, with at BEST a looped ‘waving in the wind’ animation being re-used for the hat.

If I have to know this, everyone does. It’s my revenge for watching Jabber Jaw as a child. Do you know what it’s plot was? They were a band but every concert venue banned sharks. That’s it. Over and over again.
