Is it wrong that I’m hoping that one day you’ll revisit those last three books?

After seeing his impressive list of literary and entertainment feats, I looked up Cliff Carle.

Despite being the esteemed writer of “a screenplay” and “several sketch comedy skits”, according to IMDb his only film/television achievement is writing a short film in 2012 called “For The Cause”, which, other than admitting it exists, IMDb has almost no information about.

Assuming it’s the same Cliff Carle.

My Google search was more entertaining:

I found his website, which is one of the thirstiest things I have ever seen on the Internet (and in an age where EVERYONE has and expects to make money from an OnlyFans account, that’s saying a lot).

His website claims he has ghostwritten over 400 novels (none of which he names, nor does he provide any of the aliases he used), and the rest is him utterly pleading with the reader to hire him to edit your book.

Check this out. I swear I didn’t alter a thing:

“Cliff Carle has been called “a great Zen Master of words” for his ability to work wonders with rough text. Under his guidance, projects deemed “unmarketable” have been transformed into moneymakers.

During his 20 years as the Editorial Director for an L.A. based publisher; plus the last eight years working freelance, Cliff has edited and ghostwritten over 400 books, both fiction and nonfiction, placed with over 50 publishers including Hay House and Rodale. Additionally, he has expertise in cover design and marketing. If you Google his name, 10,000+ entries will come up.

Cliff will help you develop your book and fine-tune it not only for literary merit, but it’s marketing aspects, including title, style, organization; and ultimately, the “pitch” to agents or publishers. He has the ability to bring out the best in a writer by clearly articulating what is needed to make a good manuscript great. Clients are awed by how easy he makes it look to fix the weaknesses in their books. As a result, all of his authors rave about him.

Cliff’s clients have included a CNN Anchorperson, a national television host on ShopNBC, a nationally syndicated columnist, a journalist for the Boston Globe, a Grammy award winning Rap Artist; a documentary film director; plus countless public speakers, CEOs, PhDs, doctors, psychologists, and four bestselling authors.”

Just… Wow😳

Btw, how could this pair of subnormals write so very many books of “funny” answering machine/voice mail messages and not include some sort of variation on the most infamous one of all?

You know? The one where you try to convince the caller that you’re at home and you’re talking to them, and suddenly…PSYCH! You’re talking to a machine, dumbass! Leave a message!

Yes, the Archer gag–but it’s been around since pretty much the day answering machines were invented.

I mean, if hack is what you’re going for (and I think the books make this clear), at least steal from the classics of pedestrian humor.
