Lake Bell is awesome as the voice of Poison Ivy in Max’s Harley Quinn animated series–she deserves better than this sad attempt at racist torture porn.
She most truly does deserve better. As the other side of the coin, though, it’s also disappointing that she didn’t KNOW better than to involve herself in this pratfall into a puddle of hate crime.
I am guessing the Netflix blow up is because of all the anti- Asian racism going around nowadays. Also that fourth world thing is probably more racist then you think as it is a thing. And yes the whole world thing is inherently racist but the fourth one more so as it is use both on uncontracted tribes, as well people who “live apart” from the rest of a firs world or second world nation in “standers “ like those of a third world nation. So in other words it is use to insult minority communities
They avoided being racist to one SEA country by being racist to SEA in general. Classic move. Also, as someone from the Balkans, this feels exactly like when a movie invents a generic east european country where every street looks like an alley behind an abandoned factory and extras are shouting in a mix of bad serbian and russian with a heavy american accent. Man, I love Hollywood
