The filmmaker, racist, took an 11 minute break from the gritty crime drama to invent his own mommy emotional disorder so we’d be extra upset when he explodes a bank teller’s fingers and head and then cuts to a reaction shot of a man in whiteface.

Jason’s pick was We Need to Talk About Kevin, a movie about a real jerk made by someone who has no idea how bows and arrows work. That’s not an editorial, that’s from the poster:

I’m not sure what that last sentence means after the AI autocorrect got done with it, but I think I need to go unplug a few things.
I will argue baby-addict bank lady being executed was a good thing. If she was allowed to survive, she was a week away from sealing that baby in an acrylic cube to preserve it.
And two weeks from heating that baby on a spoon and injecting it between her toes.
Seconding Jason on Requiem for a Dream being an immensely silly movie.
It really is to drug addiction what Crash was to racism. An earnest (?) attempt by someone wholly unfamiliar with the issue at hand to make a hard-hitting drama about it. Either way great movies to get stoned and make fun of.

My fiance and I feel this way about Hereditary. We ruined some people in the theaters experience because we could not stop exploding with laughter. Idk if it is because we couldn’t take the inciting incident seriously and it broke us, but every gruesome thing in that movie is hilarious.
